Four Countries Soon to
Lift Ban On LTTE Tamil National Alliance Candidate Suresh
Premachandran
[EelamNation, November 11/2001]
Mr. Suresh Premachandran, the leader of Eelam
People's Revolutionary Liberation Front (EPRLF) and a candidate of Tamil
National Alliance, said that the alliance would hold talks with four
respected countries, which have banned the LTTE as a terrorist movement
due to mounting pressure by the Sri Lankan President and the Foreign
Minster. It won't be long time to see the outcome, which indeed
would be a slap in the face of majority Sinhala chauvinists, he told
presspersons at his office in Jaffna. частотомеры, калибраторы и миллиомметры, осциллографы, вольтметры, анализаторы спектра и мегаомметры
He said the Sri Lankan government managed to obtain
supports in the international community due to dis-unity within the Tamil
community. But the formation of the four parties into a single
alliance is a turning point in the liberation struggle of Tamils led by
the Liberation Tigers. The Tamil National Alliance will exert
pressure upon the international community to recognize the Tamil Tigers as
freedom fighters fighting a war in self-defense. The Sri Lankan
State is hiding its own TERRORISM unleashed against the Tamil people in
the island beginning from early fifties.
He said further that it is the responsibility of
Tamils to vote for the Tamil National Alliance; otherwise pro-government
militant groups such as EPDP would help President Chandrika to delay
settlement of the conflict for another five years. These anti Tamil
movements are rewarded with ministerial berths for betraying Tamil
people's freedom struggle.
Mr. Premachandran said that the Sinhalese governments
in the past managed to hoodwink the foreign governments by taking into
their fold Tamil militant groups such as EPDP instead of holding talks
with the LTTE. The tactics is to showcase the EPDP as the party
representing the Tamil people, prolong the conflict further until Tamil
resistance is crushed using military force. It is also a tactic to obtain
foreign aid. We will urge the next government to hold talks with
LTTE to end the war in order to prevent further destruction and loss of
lives.
He said that Tamils should understand that this election has
given an opportunity to air their political aspirations to the
international community. Tamils should not miss this historic
opportunity to win the support of international community by showing them
they are not warmongers, but people yearning for peace with justice.
